Corpse Bride
Children and adults everywhere anticipated the release of Corpse Bride. The movie was much talked about, even before its release. However, when people started seeing it, the disappointment set in. The thing about the Corpse Bride is that is was just dull. Everything about the movie fell right in the middle of the road. Sure, the story was a strange one that should have captivated the audiences that came to see it. However, there were too many things that went wrong in the process of those involved trying to tell the story.
The main thing that made the movie so boring was the fact that the animation was so dark. Sure, the movie was partially about dead people, but the whole thing was in about a million shades of gray. If you believe that color affects the way you perceive things, then you would know that gray is not a color that most people are drawn to. So, the fact that even the “non-dead” parts of the movie are done in shades of gray is not a good thing.
In addition, the movie is a little misplaced as a cartoon. The story is a little too progressed for smaller children who usually enjoy cartoons. Without the bright colors and the upbeat songs and such, children will be bored within minutes. In addition, adults are not really captivated by the story either. A love story cartoon about dead people is something that might not create a great interest for anyone over the age of 12. So, all in all, the makers just missed the mark. It would have likely made a much better novel.
