Hoodwinked Movie Reviews
Hoodwinked is one movie that many people have mixed opinions about. When it was advertised, it was compared to the likeness of Shrek. However, the truth is that Hoodwinked is just plain ignorant and quite boring to boot.
One of the most difficult things for this movie was that it hit in a strange audience age grouping. The younger children, who would be fascinated with the Little Red Riding Hood twists, are too young to really understand what’s going on with the story line twists. The older children and teens are not interested in it because they are “too cool” for kid movies and don’t want to even take a second look. The only people that may be in the slightest bit entertained are those that fall into the adult group that still enjoys watching Saturday morning cartoons. These adults might like the movie.
With voices from Anne Hathaway, Jim Belushi, Andy Dick, Glenn Close, and Patrick Warburton, you would think that this movie would have been more entertaining. Bets are that if these stars dressed up in person as these characters, things would have been a little more interesting and entertaining. Although they all did a good job with their voice parts, they really didn’t have that much to work with.
Thank goodness the animation was pretty great, or the entire movie would have been buried before it even came out for everyone to see. Hoodwinked is a strange movie overall, that tends to be more boring than interesting.
