Son of Mask Reviews
The Mask was a movie that was pretty successful overall. With Jim Carrey leading the show, audiences were thrilled and entertained. However, when Jim Carrey chose not to sign on with the Son of Mask movie, everyone had doubts. The truth is that the Son of Mask was so unusual and odd that it was boring. The cast was mediocre and somewhat boring. They did not bring that star quality to the film like Jim Carrey did in the first Mask movie.
There was far too much hoopla around this film for it to end up as boring as it did. The whole thing was strange, with too much emphasis on the baby in it. The most interesting parts were when the main character wore the mask for the first time to the Halloween party. Other than that, the entire movie was boring. There was no “magic” in the Son of Mask. No one cared what happened to the mask and just wanted the movie to be over.
The funny parts were not funny and the rest of the plot was just boring and dull. However, it can’t be completely blamed on the story line and the writers. The cast just didn’t compare to the entertainment factor that the first movie, The Mask, had. It may not have been directly their fault, but chances are they all knew it by the time filming wrapped. So, if you have a choice, choose to forget about Son of Mask and move right onto to something else as quickly as possible.
